Scallion Oil

  • small saucepan or heat-proof bowl


  • 4-6 scallion stalks, thinly sliced (both whites and greens)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. sugar

Serve with:

Drizzle over any Omsom Lemongrass BBQ recipe!


Stove-top method:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a small saucepan. Place sliced scallions in a heatproof bowl. Pour hot oil over scallions - be careful of oil splatter! Mix in salt and sugar.


Microwave method:

  • Combine scallions, sugar, salt, and oil in a microwave safe bowl. Cook on high for one minute.
