These influential creators (and former restaurant kids) are paving the path for Asian third-culture kid cuisine.
You may already know Ewa + Jeromy Ko from their immense social following (326k+ IG, 291k+ Tiktok, and 40k+ YouTube!!) – their beautiful food + lifestyle adventures across the globe have the Internet drooling on the regular.
What’s wild is that they are actually just the kindest, coolest people – spending time with them feels like kicking it with old friends from home. These former restaurant kids both hail from first-gen immigrant families (Taiwan + Hong Kong) and actually met while working in a Chinese restaurant in Ohio. (Fate!)
Their love of food + the desire to shed light on Asian culture, local restaurants + industry folks inspired the creation of Nom Life in 2014. Originally, Nom Life got its footing as an outlet to share hidden gems in Columbus. When the pair moved to NYC, Ewa + Jeromy grew homesick for their families’ home-cooked dishes – and Nom Life evolved into a platform to share their fave third-culture Asian recipes, travel guides, and culinary adventures!
Nom Life is a family business at heart – Ewa’s younger brother Andrew joined the Nom Life crew to help bring these gorgeous stories to life in a new way.
It was such a joy to kick it in LA with the trio – behind the gorgeous shots + the beautiful videos are actually three down-to-earth, third-culture kids with a love of food + adventure. Yes, they know their angles – but even more so, they have their heart rooted in the culture. Whether we were goofing around Whole Foods or blasting Nicki Minaj in the LA sunshine, it was such a joy to work with these Internet celebrities on Omsom’s Soy Garlic Saucy Noodles. These savory, herbaceous noodles are our nod to sizzling oil noodles – culminating in a delightfully deep + aromatic umami flavor.
As Ewa + Jeromy always say – stay hungry and stay foolish!
