Taste Omsom’s Sisig Starter in Woldy Kusina’s newest dish, available at Hungry House in Brooklyn, NY
Like all of us, Chef Woldy Reyes loves to incorporate loud & proud asian flavors into all of his dishes. Woldy is a fixture of the Brooklyn food community as a caterer, influencer, and creator behind Woldy Kusina and his world of modern Filipino food. For his second season as part of Hungry House, Woldy is bringing Omsom’s sisig sauce to life with a damn delicious tofu sisig bowl.
Inspired by his mentor's Sizzling Sisig dish, Woldy’s take is plant-based, using tofu marinated in our sisig sauce and coated in a gluten-free rice flour dredge - before being fried to golden crispy perfection. Paired with warm jasmine rice, vegetable slaw, fresno peppers, cilantro, scallion, and drizzled with an Omsom sisig mayo (it’s 100% vegan too).
